Victoriana Circa 1837 – 1901

So named for the reign of Queen Victoria, the Victorian era saw extreme boom and bust times in the Australian economy and with this a marked opulence in fashion and design. High Victorian design, colloquially known locally as “Boom Style” in the later part of the 19th Century saw elaborate and quite ostentatious architectural features, and Stained Glass was no exception. Featuring multiple borders including rich ruby red, polychromatic detailing of backgrounds, vivid turquoise elements and highlights made for wonderfully intricate show pieces.
